The Monterey County Workforce Investment Board (WIB) oversees the Monterey County One Stop Career Centers and maintains service agreements with 16 local partners throughout Monterey County. Three of the WIB’s partners are the major stakeholders and investors of the One Stop Career Centers. They include the Office for Employment Training (OET), Employment Development Department (EDD) and the Monterey County Department of Social and Employment Services (DSES) California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs) Employment Services (CWES).
OET is funded by the local WIB, EDD receives a majority of its funding through Wagner-Peyser and Trade Adjustment Assistance and CWES is funded through the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
In addition to the three major partners of the Monterey County One Stop Career Center system, a number of “rotating partners” provide regular or occasional services at one or more of the One Stops.
Together, these partners have improved the lives of over 5,000 individuals throughout Monterey County per year through the One Stop Career Center system.
